This week our collection “Dynamic Duos” is on sale, paired with the release of 22 Jump Street.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum team up again as officers Schmidt and Jenko, this time faking their way through college to find the supplier of a new, dangerous drug.
Onscreen pairings that work really well stay in our minds and it’s almost impossible to imagine someone else in the role. We’ve dug deep into the trivia vaults to share some could-have-been dynamic duo castings.
Agents K & J
Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith star as the scum-fighting super-agents, regulators of all things alien on planet earth in the Men in Black franchise.
…but it could have been Clint Eastwood and Chris O’Donnell. Dirty Harry and Robin—it could have been a great combo!
Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law used their wits, good looks and a little bit of fisticuffs to get to the bottom of the mysteries in the Sherlock Holmes films.
…but it could have been Jason Statham and Colin Farrell. A handsome pair, indeed.
Lee & Carter
Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are unforgettable as the mismatched motor-mouthed maverick and daredevil cop in the Rush Hour movies.
…but it could have been Chris Farley and Martin Lawrence. To be fair, Chris Farley DID star in Beverly Hills Ninja, so the stunts probably would have still been pretty good.
Detectives Lowrey & Burnet
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence seem pretty spot-on as two loose cannons out to make an epic drug bust in Bad Boys.
…but it could have been Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz. The original pitch was written specifically for the pair based off their successful sketches on SNL.
What do you think? Did they get the pairs right? Download movies from our Dynamic Duos Collection and decide for yourself!
